On 5th May, 1962, Punjab’s Cotton Merchant Association Ltd. Was incorporated, Which later on came to be Known as the- The Indian
Cotton Association Ltd. (ICAL).
ICAL – A unique organization, trade with members spread across the major sectors including Ginners, Traders, Exporters, Textile Mills and Brokers and all others associated with cotton. It has played a notable part not only in the development of cotton marketing in Northern India, but also in the service of the cotton economy and the textiles industry of the country.
On behalf of Indian Cotton Association Limited (ICAL), It gives me immense pleasure for inviting all stakeholders of cotton value chain to
this year’s Indian Cotton Conference (ICC 2019) which will be held on November 1st – 2nd, 2019 at The Leela Ambience, Gurgaon NCR.
ICC 2019 will be the 4th edition of the International Cotton Conference; an endeavour which was initiated during the Golden Jubilee year of our association. The theme for this year’s conference will be “THE CHALLENGE OF CHANGE” . Many will find this theme interesting as many new, unexpected challenges have come up for cotton traders in last two years.
We will be working hard to bring together the best “Thought leaders” who will contemplate these challenges and present their logical solutions.
ICC 2019 will also be focusing on branding of India as the most potential organic cotton producing country across the globe.
ICC series have always been inaugurated by Key Decision Makers from Ministry of Textile, Govt. of India, and have always been supported in the best possible manner by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India along with many national fraternity associations and corporate houses from the cotton value chain. Participating delegates had the opportunity to listen to key policy and decision makers from Government of India as well as senior representatives from large Multinational Companies.
It is our constant endeavour to bring all stakeholders from the entire cotton value chain to discuss, deliberate and understand the ever changing domestic and global cotton trade scenario. These meaningful discussions would ultimately lead to evolution of new strategies and ide
as to synergize efforts for becoming global leaders in the backdrop of growing challenges and complexities of the trade. The hosting of ICC 2019 in November also coincides with new crop season of the northern hemisphere and would provide first-hand information about the new crop, price trends and new opportunities.
The future for the Indian textile industry looks promising, buoyed by both strong domestic consumption as well as export demand as China is drifting away from textile manufacturing activities. With consumerism and disposable income on the rise, the retail sector has experienced a rapid growth in the past decade with the entry of several international players.
In the globalized environment, the industry would face numerous challenges and therefore, ICAL is gearing itself to remain relevant and foster the growth of the Indian textile industry.
I appeal to all the stakeholders of the Indian textile industry to stand united to make the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister “Make in India” and “Inclusive Growth” true and meet the most important basic needs of the human being, “clothing” in a cost effective manner across the globe and ensure compliance.
It is also worth mentioning here that Indian Cotton Conferences have already set high bench mark through the success of its past events and have become a must attend event.
Besides meeting old friends and colleagues, Indian Cotton Conference 2019 will also provide a rare opportunity of networking and establishing trade relationship with the invited global stalwarts and attending international delegates who are key policy and decision makers in their respective organisations.
Mutual support for achieving each other’s goals; solidarity, along with our combin
ed statesmanship would not only help in shaping the cotton industry in India but also across the globe. With this objective, I once again invite all stakeholders of Cotton Industry
to attend ICC 2019 for wholesome development of the entire Cotton value chain.
First time visitors to this part of the country will also experience great hospitality and an opportunity to explore heritage monuments of Delhi and the world famous Taj mahal!
I look forward to your valuable support in making Indian Cotton Conference 2019 a grand success!
With best regards,
Indian Cotton Association
